Pigs arrive at Fairytale Farm

altOur first pigs have arrived at Fairytale Farm. Called Aston and Martin, they spent their first two years living in a first floor flat in Abingdon. A Sky TV film crew covered the move to Fairytale Farm on 13 August.

The pigs both loved their first experience of grass and soil and enjoyed rolling around in it! The picture shows the pigs settled down for their first night with Olivia looking on.

See photos of their arrival on our Facebook page.

New Rhea hatched

Photograph of newly hatched RheaOur first Rhea hatched today. The egg was given to us by Dartmoor Zoo. Here is a picture of it about 10 minutes after hatching. Amazing to think it will grow 5 feet tall! We will follow the Rhea's progress on this website and on our Facebook page.

On Thursday, just two days ago, two little chickens also hatched. We actually watched them hatch in front of our eyes! They will join our existing 26 chickens. Our most interesting chicken is a beautiful Silkie from China called 'Lucky'.

Help us complete Fairytale Farm

Fairytale Farm still needs to raise another £200,000 to allow us to complete the project. Our focus is now moving on to securing sponsorship from companies who might be able to help us reach our target. We are also looking for contractors who can help us install animal enclosures, lay paths and erect a new building to create some indoor space. If you can help or would like to sponsor the project, please contact us on 01608 646279 or info@fairytalefarm.co.uk.

Thank you for your support

Bon Giovi at the Cotswold Music FestivalA big thank you to everybody who supported the Cotswold Music Festival yesterday. The day was a great success and a real family day out with fantastic weather and great music.

Nick and Nicola would like to say a special thank you to Noel and Sandra for organising the event. We never doubted that you could pull it off, and you certainly did. Thanks also to Tim Busby for his help and support, including designing the festival website, to the Air Cadets for keeping the car park under control and to all the bands and their crew for putting on a brilliant show. And last but by no means least, thanks to our two volunteers, Julie and Katie, for manning the entrance gates and checking tickets respectively.

There are some photos of the event on our Facebook page.
