More on our Learning Hub

Fairytale Farm has just launched its Learning Hub. Here are more details on the sessions that we are currently offering:

Budding Performers

Does you child have a love of performing? Or perhaps you are looking for ways to support their social skills and self confidence? Budding Performers is a relaxed group, led by a trained actor and Primary School Teacher, Natalie. She will guide the children through fun games and exercises which help develop their teamwork and performance skills in dancing, drama and singing.

Budding Artists

We all know there are many incredible benefits achieved from time emersed in creativity. If your child has a flair for creating, designing and letting their imagination run wild, Budding Artists is a great way to put their hands to new skills. This group explores different media from drawing and watercolour to simple pottery or constructing things out of wood. The activities will be open ended so accessible for all and where possible, will use recycled or sustainable resources. Occasionally experts will be invited along to teach the children specific skills, plus we will learn lots about how things are made at Fairytale Farm – from the eco brick building to the giant model dinosaurs in Dino Valley!

Outdoor Learning Club

We think that nature is the very best playground and play is the very best way to learn. With this in mind we have created the Outdoor Learning Club, which offers opportunities for observation and to learn about nature, record and reflect on our findings. Here we combine developing literacy, speaking and listening skills with other learning opportunities such as working closely with the animals on the farm and with the natural world.

Each session will provide a balance of hands on experiences, time to write individually or as a group and lots of chances to share thoughts and ideas. We will be using the fabulous creative writing and storytelling resources from The Phive to support our writers and help spark their imaginations.

Mindfulness for Teens

A group for 11-16 year olds to explore their identity further in a safe space. Creative tools such as collage, paint, clay, sand and imagery will be used to express feelings. There will also be Nature walks and time with the animals. The aim is for the Young People to gain a stronger sense of themselves and the others in a group and grow in connection to each other and their environment.

Led by Psychotherapeutic Counsellor Clare Bay who has 20 years experience working with adolescents.
